We are front-line law enforcement officers, working here in Humboldt County. Every day when we say goodbye to our families and head out to work, we put our lives on the line.

We face meth dealers, reckless drivers, armed robbers, sometimes worse. But it's all worth it. We take pride in keeping Humboldt County a safe place to live for our families and yours.

This year, budget cuts are threatening to lay of 20 deputies, reducing our patrol levels to the lowest levels on record.  This means closing the Sheriffs’ SubStations in both McKinleyville and Garberville, and it means response times of an hour or more in some cases.

This will increase the crime rate and leave some residents feeling like they live in the Wild West.

Please join us in urging County Supervisors to find a better way to balance the budget than unequally targeting Public Safety. Our community deserves better.
